For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Mercedes EQE Sedan are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Rolls-Royce Spectre doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the EQE Sedan are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Spectre doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The EQE Sedan has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Spectre doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

The EQE Sedan has a standard Post Collision Brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Spectre doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The EQE Sedan has a standard Maneuvering Brake Function that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Spectre doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The EQE Sedan has Car-to-X Communication, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Spectre doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the EQE Sedan and Spectre have rear cross-traffic warning, but the EQE Sedan has Active Brake Assist (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Spectre’s Cross Traffic Warning doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the EQE Sedan and the Spectre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The EQE Sedan’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Spectre’s (5 vs. 4 years).

The EQE Sedan AMG offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Spectre doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The EQE Sedan stops shorter than the Spectre:

For better traction, the AMG EQE’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Spectre (F:265/40R20 & R:295/35R20 vs. F:255/40R23 & R:295/35R23).

The EQE Sedan’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Spectre’s standard 45 series front tires. The EQE Sedan’s optional 255/35R21 front and 285/30R21 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the Spectre’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The EQE Sedan’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Spectre doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

The EQE Sedan’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the Spectre’s (47% to 53%). This gives the EQE Sedan more stable handling and braking.

The Mercedes EQE Sedan may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 900 to 1100 pounds less than the Rolls-Royce Spectre.

The EQE Sedan is 1 foot, 6.7 inches shorter than the Spectre, making the EQE Sedan easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Mercedes EQE Sedan amounts to more than styling. The EQE Sedan has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .22 Cd. That is lower than the Spectre (.25) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the EQE Sedan get better fuel mileage.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the EQE Sedan a Mid-size car, while the Spectre is rated a Compact.

The EQE Sedan has standard seating for 5 passengers; the Spectre can only carry 4.

The EQE Sedan has 7 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Spectre (101 vs. 94).

The EQE Sedan’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Spectre doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the EQE Sedan’s trunk can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Spectre doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its trunk, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The EQE Sedan’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Spectre’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The EQE Sedan’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Spectre’s power window switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

Heated windshield washer fluid is optional on the EQE Sedan to defrost the washer nozzles and quickly clear ice and frost from the windshield without scraping. The Spectre doesn’t offer heated windshield washer fluid. Its standard heated washer nozzles will defrost the washer fluid but not the windshield.

The EQE Sedan’s Active Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Spectre’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.

The EQE Sedan is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Spectre doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
