The AMG GLC Coupe has standard Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Model Y doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the AMG GLC Coupe and the Model Y have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available lane departure warning systems.

The AMG GLC Coupe 63 S E Performance offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. For better traction, the AMG GLC Coupe has larger tires than the Model Y (F:265/40R21 & R:295/35R21 vs. 255/45R19). The AMG GLC Coupe’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Model Y (F:265/40R21 & R:295/35R21 vs. F:255/35R21 & R:275/35R21).

The AMG GLC Coupe’s standard 295/40R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Model Y’s standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the AMG GLC Coupe has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Model Y.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the AMG GLC Coupe can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Model Y doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The AMG GLC Coupe 63 S E Performance offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Model Y doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The AMG GLC 63 S E Coupe offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Tesla doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Model Y.

The AMG GLC Coupe has .9 inches more front shoulder room and 1.8 inches more rear shoulder room than the Model Y.
